Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh was founded in 1966 by the renowned industrialist and philanthropist late Shri Sohan Lal Ji Sethia, in the memory of his reverend mother Sona Devi Sethia. Shri Sohan Lal Ji Sethia recognized that education was the first component of progress and who believed that the doors of progress would be shut on Sujangarh if its women were not educated; it was not enough that Sujangarh men had made a great mark in world business.
Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh is situated at Sujangarh, Rajasthan. Shri Nirmal Kumar Sethia son of Late Shri Sohan Lalji Sethia and the Chairman of Nirmal Sethia Charitable Trust has taken the responsibility of managing and meeting the financial requirement of Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh which is continuously marching towards progress. Shri Nirmal Kumarji Sethia felt & realized the increasing demand of women’s education and has provided a new campus for the college in the year 2001. The Five Crore Rupees Project entirely financed by Shri Nirmal Kumarji Sethia through his trust can accommodate more than two thousand students.
This has been a pioneer institution in spreading the message of literacy, independence and educating females in this backward region of Rajasthan and has done excellent and exemplary work in the field of education. It is Shri N K Sethia’s cherished dream and ambition that Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh should not merely be an institution for education, but it should also be the center for spreading Indian values, culture, religion and every student after leaving this institution should spread knowledge and power of literacy not only to her family but also to the society and the World at large. The Library is one of the key academic facilities provided to augment the learning of students of Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh. It is housed in a huge block measuring approximately13,000 sq.Ft. It has an excellent collection of text books, National Journals and a large number of daily newspapers. It is trying to computerize the library section to further upgrade the system. Provision is there for an advanced audio-video library as well. U.G.C. network center has been set up in the library. There is a highly sophisticated auditorium, named Sohan Sabhagar at Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh which can accommodate almost 2000 students for organizing College functions. It is a multi-utility hall and provides platform for organizing various activities even at national level. It houses the Office of the college and the Trust. A separate area is provided for visitors where they can meet students and the college authorities. Facilities of post office and a bank counter are also housed in this block.
In order to bring efficiency & fluency at English Language & to impart correct knowledge of English phonetics, latest technique language-lab with 30 seats & well set audio apparatus with overhead projector & L.C.D. projector is set up in the department of English. A diploma course in functional English, sponsored by UGC is also being run in Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh. There is a separate H.Sc. block with a well-equipped lab with all modern appliances.

G.P.E.M., Functional English, Textile designing, dyeing & printing, etc. many girls from all over Rajasthan come here to study. A large, well ventilated, pollution free hostel building is erected. It can accommodate 112 students. Hostlers are provided with the facilities of water-cooler with aqua-guard and gas geezer for hot water in winter season. We provide round the clock security system to our boarders besides giving the dedicated service of responsible and amiable female warden. The hostel has its own common recreational room for the inmates to socialize, relax & watch T.V.
Realising the importance of health & keeping in view “a healthy mind resides in a healthy body”, Sona Devi Sethia P G Girls College – Sujangarh provides mess facility for our hostlers where they can get best quality of homely & nutritious food prepared by skilled cooks. A huge dining hall with a modern kitchen has been provided just near the Hostel block. Almost 150 students can have their meal at a time.
First aid facilities are available in the hostel, with a separate sick room/dispensary. Besides there is a Dispensary for women within close vicinity and services of a qualified lady Doctor are available round the clock. Students are medically checked up by medical practitioners.
